If you are a registered Georgian Individual Entrepreneur (IE), you can open a dedicated business account remotely at Bank of Georgia, TBC or Credo — without flying to Georgia. This 2026 guide explains how it works and how the three banks compare.
For step-by-step detail on any bank, see the dedicated business-account guides linked below.
Why open a separate business account?
A dedicated business account keeps your personal and business money apart, lets you receive payments from clients and pay suppliers under your IE, and gives the bank — and your accountant — a clean, separate record of business activity. For most Individual Entrepreneurs it’s the practical foundation for invoicing and day-to-day operations in Georgia.
Who can open one?
This route is for Individual Entrepreneurs already registered in Georgia. You’ll provide your IE registration details and Georgian tax identification alongside your passport. If you also want a personal account, that can be opened at the same bank — see the note at the end.
How the remote process works
At all three banks, a business account for an IE is opened by power of attorney through an authorized representative in Georgia. You never have to travel. The shape of the process is the same:
- ApplyYou provide your passport, IE registration details, description of business activity, expected turnover, and information about your clients and counterparties. mono checks everything and prepares the application.
- Prepare the power of attorneymono provides the power-of-attorney text and instructions. You notarize it (and apostille or legalize where required) and courier the original to Georgia.
- Submission & reviewOnce the original arrives, the authorized representative submits the application to the bank. The bank reviews it and may request documents about your activity, contracts, source of funds or tax status.
- Activation & accessOnce approved, the representative activates the account and you get access to the bank’s business app and a digital card. A physical card is not part of the remote service.

What documents you may need
The basic documents normally include:
- a valid passport;
- Georgian Individual Entrepreneur registration extract;
- Georgian tax identification details;
- notarized power of attorney;
- description of the business activity.
Depending on your profile, a bank may also request contracts, invoices or proof of previous payments, bank statements, documents confirming the source of funds, expected monthly turnover, details of clients and counterparties, a website or professional profile, and any additional documents required by its compliance department. The final list is decided by each bank after reviewing the application.
How long does it take?
The process begins once your information is ready and the original power of attorney has arrived in Georgia. The total time depends on courier delivery, the bank’s review, and whether additional documents are requested. mono cannot guarantee a specific opening date, as each application is reviewed individually under the bank’s internal compliance procedures.
How mono helps
mono prepares and submits your application, provides the power-of-attorney text and instructions, arranges submission through the authorized representative, and supports you until the account is active — so the process is structured rather than guesswork.
Is approval guaranteed?
No. mono prepares and supports the application, but the final decision is made solely by the bank according to its internal compliance requirements. Using mono’s services does not guarantee account approval.
